Tom Sikorski

Tom co-founded Bluewater in 2011. Tom’s responsibilities range from deal origination and structuring to execution, monitoring and exit strategy evaluation. Tom is involved in investment activities throughout the entire energy industry, with particular expertise in industrial manufacturing and service, energy transition and storage and logistics. 

Before Bluewater, Tom served as Managing Director and, from 2006, Head of the London office and Chairman of First Reserve International. Tom holds an A.B. degree Magna Cum Laude in Economics from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Tom has served in recent years as a director on the boards of Aquilex Corp., Dresser, Inc., Dresser-Rand Group, Inc., Quanta Services, Inc. and Bahamas Oil Refining Company International Limited (BORCO). Tom is on the board of Authentix, Excellence Logging, IMServ, Severn, FIT and Galileo Technologies.

Jerker Johansson

Jerker co-founded Bluewater in 2011. As Executive Chairman, Jerker works alongside Tom to drive the continued growth of the firm and the value creation across the funds BWE manage. Jerker’s specific responsibilities include chairing the Investment Committee, Quarterly Portfolio Reviews and the Bluewater charitable giving committee. Jerker also maintains an active role across all elements of Bluewater including the Deal Team, Finance Team and the Investor Relations & Marketing team.

Jerker was previously the Global Head of Institutional Equities at Morgan Stanley, where his 22-year tenure featured involvement across various capital markets, then CEO of UBS Investment Bank. Jerker holds an MSc degree in Economics from Stockholm School of Economics and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Jerker now serves on the boards of GES, Stena International S.A., Stena Fastigheter and FAM AB – part of The Wallenberg Foundations – and is a Trustee of The Morgan Library and Museum. Jerker is also a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.

Martin Somerville

Martin joined Bluewater in 2013 and has 20 years of private equity and M&A experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining Bluewater, he held senior roles at HitecVision, KPMG and RBC Capital Markets. 

Martin has leadership responsibilities on deals from origination, through execution, portfolio management and exit. He has a focus on companies within the energy service, technology and infrastructure markets. 

Martin is currently a board member of 3T Energy Group (UK), GES Group (Singapore/Netherlands), CRC Evans (UK), Unique Group (UAE), ROVOP (UK),  IMServ (UK) and Wellesley (UK). Martin is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee 

He is a qualified CA with a degree in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. 

Martin Somerville

Salil Oberoi

Salil joined Bluewater in 2013 and has more than 15 years of experience in the Energy and Industrials sector. Salil’s key responsibilities include origination, execution and portfolio management. He has a focus on companies within the energy and industrial manufacturing and technology segments. 

Salil was previously a Director in the Corporate Finance division at Ruspetro Plc and, before then, an Investment Banking Associate in the Basic Industries group at Citigroup. He is a Rhodes Scholar from University of Oxford and holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Management. 

Salil currently serves on the board of Galileo Global Technologies, Severn Group, Varel Energy Services International, and EDGE Gathering Virtual Pipelines. 

Salil Oberoi

Louise Pilgrim

Louise joined Bluewater in 2018 and has over 20 years of Private Equity experience.  Louise is responsible for leading both the finance and Fund operations function of the firm including fund and deal structuring, tax, portfolio and investor reporting and compliance together with responsibility for the oversight of HR, office management and IT functions.  She is also a member of the ESG committee. 

Before joining Bluewater, Louise was Chief Administration Officer at Langham Hall, a private equity and real estate fund administrator and, before then, Fund Operations Manager at Park Square Capital, a leading private equity credit investor and Fund Financial Accountant at Electra Partners, one of the UK’s oldest private equity firms. 

Louise holds a degree in Business and Economics from Salford University. 

Louise Pilgrim

Frazer Blyth

Frazer leads the Marketing & Investor Relations functions at Bluewater and is part of the Senior Management team in the firm. Frazer is also a member of the Responsible Investing and Charitable Giving committees. 

Day to day Frazer’s responsibilities, in addition to leading the IR Team, include investor communications, fund raising and co-investment placement. He has also led several secondary sale processes for LPs. Frazer manages Bluewater’s advisor groups and spends a significant amount of time working with current and potential investors in their respective regions understanding their energy investment strategies. Frazer contributes significantly to the investment strategy of Bluewater and he also drives many of the Responsible Investing initiatives in both Bluewater and the portfolio. Similarly, as well as leading the firm’s marketing strategy, he also spends time across the portfolio assisting with marketing strategy development. Frazer attends all of the IC meetings in the firm.

Prior to Bluewater, Frazer spent most of his working career in senior marketing roles however started his professional career as an engineer. As a consultant, he has worked with many of the UK corporate banks advising on business internationalisation and marketing strategy. Frazer is currently Chairman of a Scottish based digital business and actively supports several local charities. Frazer is a graduate of Abertay University Dundee, and Aberdeen University and is also a CIM member.

Frazer Blyth

Maral Sivzattian

Prior to joining Bluewater, Maral worked at Mubadala Capital where she led direct and fund investments into global asset managers and businesses looking to scale into the Middle East. She previously was a Vice President at Samena Capital, focusing on private equity investments in emerging markets under the firm’s Special Situation Funds. Maral started her career in M&A at Citigroup and at Barclays Capital in London.

Maral holds an MBA from London Business School and a BA in Law and Business Studies from the University of Warwick, UK.

Farhad Abbasov

Farhad joined Bluewater in 2019 and his key responsibilities include deal origination, execution, and portfolio management.  He focuses on manufacturing and services companies across energy and industrial sectors. 

During his time at Bluewater, Farhad has worked on a number of current and realised investments including px Group, CRC Evans, Kent, Galileo Global Technologies, Severn Group, EDGE Gathering Virtual Pipelines, Wellesley and ROVOP. 

Prior to joining Bluewater, Farhad worked at Nomura in London, where he advised on M&A transactions in the Natural Resources, Power and Infrastructure sectors across Europe and Asia. He started his career at SOCAR’s Investments team in Baku. 

Farhad holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from University College London and MSc degree in Investment & Wealth Management from Imperial College Business School.

Daniel Badzire-Smith

Daniel joined the Bluewater investment team as a Vice President in 2023 and has responsibilities across all phases of the investment cycle, from the origination, initial screening / assessment of new opportunity and due diligence through to the acquisition and asset management of portfolio companies. 

Prior to Bluewater, Daniel previously worked at Macquarie, Allianz and the PIF focusing on energy and infrastructure investments. Daniel holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Management from the University of Manchester – Manchester Business School and undertook a BSBA study abroad program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

Outside of work Daniel enjoys skiing, triathlons and hiking.

Fiorella Barbato

Fiorella joined Bluewater in 2021 and her responsibilities include assessment of new opportunities, financial modelling, due diligence and portfolio company monitoring. She previously worked at J.P. Morgan in London, where she was an analyst in the EMEA Natural Resources team, covering Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables and Metals & Mining. 

Fiorella holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management and a Master’s degree in Finance from LUISS Guido Carli. Fiorella enjoys cooking, especially Italian food, travelling and swimming.

Joe Dipre

Joe joined Bluewater in March 2022 and is involved in all phases of the investment cycle, from initial assessment and due diligence to deal execution and portfolio company management. 

Prior to joining Bluewater, Joe worked on the investment team at Graham Partners private equity fund, focusing on industrial technology and advanced manufacturing investments in the middle market. Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Delaware and an MBA from Drexel University.

Kayra Sıla Özalp

Kayra joined Bluewater in June 2022 and is involved in all phases of the investment cycle, from initial assessment and due diligence to deal execution and portfolio company monitoring. During her time at Bluewater, she has contributed to several ongoing investments, including Excellence Logging, Authentix, Jernbro, and 3t. 

Before joining Bluewater, Kayra worked as an investment banking analyst at Pragma in Istanbul, where she primarily focused on manufacturing companies. 

Kayra holds a bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Finance from Bocconi University in Milan. 

Kayra Sıla Özalp

Aakanksha Mohan

Aakanksha joined Bluewater in May 2024 and is actively involved in every stage of the investment cycle. Her role encompasses the initial assessment, conducting due diligence, executing deals, and managing portfolio companies across the energy and industrial sectors. 

Prior to joining Bluewater, Aakanksha worked at Bank of America in London where she was part of the Natural Resources and Energy Transition team focusing on downstream and carbon capture verticals. Aakanksha holds a masters degree in International Finance from HEC Paris.

Henry Fanti

Henry joined Bluewater in 2024 and his responsibilities include assessment of new opportunities, financial modelling, due diligence and portfolio company monitoring. Prior to Bluewater, Henry worked at Barclays in London in the EMEA Industrials and Services group where he worked on a range of clients and transactions across various subsectors. 

Henry holds a bachelors degree in Natural Sciences (Biology and Chemistry) from Durham University. 

Outside of work Henry enjoys playing sports such as padel or tennis as well as following football. In the winter he is an avid skier. 

Henry Fanti

Anna Marshall

Anna joined Bluewater in October 2022 and her responsibilities include management of the Fund operations and fund financing along with investor reporting. 

Prior to joining Bluewater, she spent 3 years at BC Partners as a Fund Controller responsible for their dual currency fund and its related co-investment vehicles. 

Anna started her career in audit, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) in 2014 before joining BlueGem Capital Partners holding the position of Financial Controller, working on both the corporate and fund financials. Anna holds a degree in Natural Sciences from Durham University. 

Outside of work, Anna enjoys playing netball, travelling the world and hiking. 

Anna Marshall

Maria Mouragian

Maria Mouragian joined Bluewater in December 2018 and is a fully certified member of the ACCA. She is involved with LLP financials and also gets involved with various aspects of the Fund operations. 

Prior to joining Bluewater, Maria worked as Assistant Accountant at GIC-Re London, an Indian Reinsurance company. Maria also holds a degree in Accounting and Finance. 

Outside of work, Maria has discovered a newfound love for walking and finds herself planning some of her weekends around a long, picturesque hike in a random location. She of course enjoys being with her friends and family and has also recently started being involved in different volunteering opportunities in and out of work. 

Maria Mouragian

Madeleine Gascoigne

Maddie joined the Investor Relations team in January 2022. Maddie’s day to day responsibilities include investor communications, fund raising, market analysis and investor reporting. She liaises with the fund administration and investment team on cross IR matters and attends the Bluewater IC meetings. 

Prior to Bluewater, Maddie spent five and a half years working at Goldman Sachs in their Executive Compensation function. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Warwick. Outside of Bluewater Maddie is a Trustee on the board of Voluntary Action Islington, a charity which supports the voluntary and community sector in the London Borough of Islington, and regularly guides for visually impaired runners after completing her certification with England Athletics in July 2019. 

Madeleine Gascoigne

Shamraiz Akhtar

Shamraiz joined Bluewater in August 2020 as IT Manager. 

He is responsible for managing all of Bluewater’s IT infrastructure and Systems. He manages the supplier relationships and oversees procurement of IT Software and Hardware. His other responsibilities include developing Bluewater’s Digital Transformation and Cyber Security Strategy. 

Shamraiz previously worked in the Seismic Industry for TGS Nopec as a Technical Support Engineer. 

Outside of work Shamraiz volunteers for his local football club as a Club Secretary and Football coach.

Sarah Bennett

Sarah Bennett has worked for Bluewater since it was founded in 2011. Sarah is the Office Manager at Bluewater and manages the office and the administrative team. Sarah takes responsibility for coordinating a number of business areas for Blue Water Energy including IT, Systems, HR and GDPR. 

Prior to joining Bluewater, Sarah worked for a number of years as Office Manager at the London Office of First Reserve Corporation. Sarah has also worked for the Financial Conduct Authority within a number of different departments including Authorisations, Enforcement and Events. 

Sarah tries to keep fit and enjoys Pilates and dance classes.  She also likes to walk and run and likes to get out to the countryside or down by the coast. 

Sarah Bennett

Rosie Micklewright

Rosie Micklewright joined Bluewater in January 2018 and is Executive Assistant to Louise Pilgrim, CFO, and the Finance Team and ESG Associate. Rosie is heavily involved in ESG at Bluewater and as a member of the committee, helps drive Bluewater’s ESG initiatives forward. She also sits on the Charities committees and works closely with Bluewater’s charitable partners. 

Prior to joining Bluewater, Rosie was the Executive Assistant to the Head of London College of Fashion. She also spent a number of years working at Lefevre Fine Art and B.P. Marsh & Partners, a private equity firm specialising in early-stage financial services business. Rosie holds a degree in History of Art and French from the University of Edinburgh. 

Rosie’s interests outside work include travelling, cold water swimming, yoga and pottery, Rosie also likes to visit art galleries when she can.

Zoe White

Zoe White joined Bluewater in 2019 and acts as Executive Assistant to Tom Sikorski (Founding Partner), Salil Oberoi (Managing Director) and Frazer Blyth (Director of Investor Relations & Marketing). She has recently completed her ‘Certificate in Investor Relations’ qualification and assists Frazer Blyth and Maddie Gascoigne with the co-ordination of IR activities. 

Prior to joining the team, Zoe studied at the University of Leeds, where she attainted a first-class degree in Business Management and completed a yearlong internship with Apple. 

In her spare time, Zoe enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants, as well as keeping fit by attending spin classes.

Lucy Fisk

Lucy Fisk joined Bluewater in June 2019 as an Executive Assistant to Graeme Sword, Martin Somerville, Fiorella Barbato, Joe Dipre, and Kayra Sıla Özalp.

Prior to joining Bluewater, Lucy was a Personal Assistant to the Head of Investor Relations and the Asset Management department at a Property Firm in Mayfair, London.

Alongside being an Executive Assistant, Lucy is also our Event Coordinator, overseeing all elements of event planning and management from our AGM to our Christmas Party.

Lucy holds a degree in Culinary Arts Business Management and is a professionally trained Chocolatier and Pastry Chef. In her spare time, when she is not baking, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

Audrey joined Bluewater in September 2024 as an Executive Assistant. Prior to joining Bluewater, Audrey worked as an EA at a Private Equity firm in Sydney, Australia. Audrey holds a degree from Royal Holloway University of London.

Jolette Farmer

Jolette Farmer joined Bluewater in 2017. Her responsibilities include meeting and greeting guests, booking meetings and lunches, arranging couriers, screening calls and helping with the smooth running of the reception and office space. Jolette was previously an Executive Assistant at John Ruskin college. In her free time, Jolette is a keen baker and loves to travel the world!
